Schedule and Synchronization
After creating campaigns, the next step is to build the schedule and send the content to the terminals.
The Schedule organizes and controls the sequence in which campaigns are shown on Neonews Studio terminals. It works like a content playlist, allowing you to define which campaigns will be shown, in what order, and during which periods they will be available.
Open the schedule
- In the Neonews Studio main menu, click SCHEDULES.
- The list of all schedules registered in the system will be shown.
Create a new schedule
- Click NEW SCHEDULE.
- A new screen will open for schedule configuration.
Enter the name
- Fill in the Name field with an identifier that makes schedule management easier.
Examples:
- Main Reception
- Corporate TV
- Institutional Wall
- Waiting Room
Use standard names to make the schedule easier to find later.
Select the default campaign
- Choose a campaign to be used as the Default Campaign.
The default campaign will be shown when:
- There are no campaigns in the schedule.
- There are no valid campaigns for the current time.
- A scheduling issue occurs.
Warning - It is recommended to use Image or Video campaigns as the default campaign, ensuring that there is always content available for display.
Save the schedule
- After filling in the initial information, click SAVE.
- The system will create the schedule and enable the other configuration options.
Configure synchronization
- If you want to automate terminal updates, click the Synchronization Schedule icon.
- Synchronization is responsible for sending schedule changes to linked devices.
Set the frequency
Choose one of the available options:
- Never: synchronization will be done manually.
- Repeat every: lets you define a recurring interval.
- Specific times: lets you run synchronization at set times.
Examples:
- Every 1 hour
- Every 2 hours
- Every 6 hours
- Daily
- Every day at 08:00
- Every day at 18:00
Configure the parameters
- Define the desired times or intervals for automatic synchronization.
- After completing the setup, click SAVE.
Confirm the schedule
- A confirmation message will appear.
- Click OK to continue.
Close the configuration
- Click EXIT to return to the main schedule screen.
Save changes
- Click SAVE again to store all schedule settings.
Confirm creation
- After saving, a success message will appear.
- Click OK to finish the process.
Manage the schedule
After it is created, the schedule will be available in the main list. From there you can:
- Add campaigns
- Remove campaigns
- Change the display order
- Configure schedules
- Associate terminals
- Run synchronizations
Synchronization
Synchronization updates the terminals with the campaigns, schedules, and adjustments made in Neonews Studio. Whenever the schedule changes, the system sends this information to the players.
To configure this feature, open the Schedule options and define the desired frequency.
!!! note "Important" During synchronization, the schedule is not interrupted. Content continues to display normally while the new files and settings are transferred to the terminal.
Manual synchronization
In addition to automatic synchronization, you can also run synchronization manually.
On the main screen, through the Terminals button or the Administration > Terminals menu, you can access the commands for device synchronization.
All terminals
- When using the synchronization buttons available on the terminals screen, the system sends the update to all registered terminals.
Specific terminal
- If you only need to synchronize one terminal, open the Terminals screen and click the Control Panel button for the desired terminal.
- Then click Synchronize.
Keyboard shortcut
- If you have physical access to the terminal, synchronization can also be run directly on the Windows player using the shortcut:
CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + U
- The Neonews Player must be open and running for the shortcut to work correctly.
